The initial pay package of a bank clerk will be 18,100 to 19,800. SBI Bank Clerks are offered 2000/- more as compared to other banks, which makes SBI Clerk total initial pay to lie between 20,100 and 21,800. The increment scale is provided in the bracket.

Perks and allowances offered to Clerks recruited from IBPS or SBI is given below:
Dearness allowance
The DA is 39.4% of the basic pay (11,765) and is revised quarterly.
Special allowance
7.75%
HRA
HRA can be 10% or 9% or 7.5% depending on the posting given to them.
Work pressure
Work pressure of SBI Clerks is more as compared to IBPS Clerks. It is time bound work but working hours are fixed. SBI Clerks are assigned lot of work on a daily basis and the work build up with the passage of time. The work assigned is tougher as compared to IBPS Clerks.

IBPS has a list of various Public Sector banks with less branches all over India as compared to SBI, therefore the chances of getting posting in home town are very less.

Career growth
IBPS Clerk
First promotion of bank clerks is given in 3-4 days but only to the officers where as clerks are given a chance after working for more than 20 years.
SBI Clerk
There is a high chance of getting promoted while being at the post of SBI Clerk. He or she is promoted as Trainee Officer within 3-4 years of joining. Trainee Officer is corresponding to Probationary Officer. Working in SBI presents more exposure compared to other PSBs.
